A demolition crew used explosives to free the entire, 18-foot (5.5-meter) piece of stone from the cliff. When researchers had to ship Leonardo for analysis, they insured it for $2.5 million. Why go to so much trouble. Expense for a fossil? Paleontologists haven't uncovered many Brachylophosaurus canadensis skeletons, but the species' rarity is a just a fraction of Leonardo's importance. Unlike almost all unearthed dinosaur fossils, Leonardo still has skin. The skin isn't soft. Supple like that of living animals.
Baby R. krausei started out weighing only 7.5 pounds (3.4 kilograms) when hatched - the same as an average human baby. This suggests, the authors propose, that R. krausei infants may have been more like today's horses than today's humans - cute, regardless, but relatively independent very early on in life. The researchers studied the size and density of fossils of baby dinos who died, most likely from starvation, between the ages of 39 and 77 days. Using X-rays and microscopic analysis of bone structures, the scientists concluded that the titanosaurs grew with similar proportions throughout life. This isn't the case for other dinosaurs that lived in the Cretaceous period, like those in the theropod and ornithischian categories - Tyrannosaurus rex and velociraptors, and stegosaurs and triceratops, respectively. No news on whether titanosaurs had adorable fat rolls and pinchable cheeks. The fossils of a hatchling dinosaur discovered in Germany suggest that when young, the dinosaur called Sciurumimus, or "squirrel imitator," had a bushy tail covered in feather-like structures.

The trouble with living in the Information Age is paradoxical: There's too much information. It's everywhere. How are you supposed to keep track of all the news, sports, weather and blogs you follow? Better yet, how are you going to do that and find time for work, school and family? If you're addicted to the constant flow of data that we know as the Internet, you're not going to be able to manage it without some help. One way to keep track of it all has grown very popular since its introduction in 1997: RSS. Short for Really Simple Syndication (at least now -- more on that later), RSS is a way to subscribe to a source of information, such as a Web site, and get brief updates delivered to you.
