Google isn't content with simply syncing smartphones -- the company wants to get its technology much deeper into the car. With each new model of car on the streets, more automakers are assuming that people want their phones and their cars to be interconnected. It seems like Apple already cast a spell over the auto industry, since iPhone and iPod integration are a major, almost standard, selling feature on a lot of new and recently introduced cars. Naturally, Apple's competitors aren't too happy about the situation, because if such features are commonplace, it implies that Apple's technology is the standard for smartphones and tablets, whether or not consumers and statistics agree. In other words, your new car is all set up to communicate with the Apple devices that the auto manufacturer assumes most people have, and it doesn't really matter whether or not such an assumption is correct. Google doesn't like it because Google owns Android, Apple's main competition in the mobile device market, and accepting that iPhones deserve an automatic spot in most (if not all) new cars means accepting and conceding that Android phones do not.
But a reality check is still a good idea. A "workout room" filled with boxes still packed from the previous move, for example, may be a good indicator of how you'll use space in a new home, despite your best intentions. Choosing the right heating and cooling system for your home is important to ensure the health and comfort of the people in your home. Heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) is ideally a humble, hard-working and barely noticed element of the overall home. Unfortunately, issues of placement, upkeep and installation are common and often costly. Poor HVAC planning can lead to mold growth from too much moisture, white noise (or downright loud noise) and poor performance from a unit that is the wrong size for heating or cooling the area. If there's a lack of insulation or an inefficient placement of vents, residents can be hot or cold most of the time, which is a huge but preventable flaw. High ceilings, too many windows, too few windows and other design elements can add to heating and cooling costs.|The Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening continues to advance the refinement of the equipment and leading strategies that will dictate the next stages of high content screening and analysis. Through the work they've done in recent years, the society has established their dedication to the continued development of best practices, equipment and technology that will define the ways in which laboratories will be streamlined for years to come. The most advanced areas of laboratory screening and automation will continue to benefit from the work that Society for Laboratory Automation does, as their membership refines the way we conceive the laboratory and how it functions. In order to do this, Society for Laboratory Automation has united an international community of more than 15,000 researchers, engineers, scientists and technologists from academic, government and commercial laboratories who are at the forefront of advancements in laboratory automation and screening processes. Industries including agrochemical, biotechnology, chemical, clinical drug discovery, consumer product, food, pharmaceutical, security, energy and clinical diagnostic have benefited greatly from the work Society for Laboratory Automation and Screening has done.
A blind woman sits in a chair holding a video camera focused on a scientist sitting in front of her. She has a device in her mouth, touching her tongue, and there are wires running from that device to the video camera. The woman has been blind since birth and doesn't really know what a rubber ball looks like, but the scientist is holding one. And when he suddenly rolls it in her direction, she puts out a hand to stop it. The blind woman saw the ball. Well, not exactly through her tongue, but the device in her mouth sent visual input through her tongue in much the same way that seeing individuals receive visual input through the eyes. In both cases, the initial sensory input mechanism -- the tongue or the eyes -- sends the visual data to the brain, where that data is processed and interpreted to form images.
