As magical Saint Peter’s run ends, UNC and Duke take rivalry to Final Four

It’s a natural part of living in the information age: You start to feel sick, so you Google your symptoms. Both the common cold and the flu will make you feel miserable, and because both are respiratory infections with similar symptoms - coughing, aching, headache, you know the drill - it can be difficult to know which one has you in its grip. Every year, anywhere from five to 20 percent of the U.S. While many sufferers will find relief in over-the-counter medicines, influenza can be serious. Influenza-related complications may require hospitalization, and sometimes complications can be fatal. Influenza, together with pneumonia (both are lower respiratory infections), ranked as the eighth leading cause of death in the U.S. For its tracking purposes, the CDC considers a fever of at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius) with a cough and/or a sore throat to be an ILI. Beginning on the 40th week of the year - which is the beginning of the October to May flu season - the CDC distributes weekly influenza activity reports.
However, they're very different from Optimus Prime. With self-reconfigurable robots, the engineer typically prefers to keep the individual, mobile modules small, simple, inexpensive, and interchangeable; in the case of Optimus Prime, however, we are dealing with a robot whose individual modules are as large as the cab of a semi truck. Even if building such modules were possible, the expense would be exorbitant, and the extraordinary complexity would make it virtually impossible to ever get all of the systems operating properly together. If engineers figured out how to make interchangeable modules on Optimus Prime's scale, it might still be impossible to provide the power to move them. In his vehicle form, Optimus Prime can run on ordinary diesel fuel. But walking is far less efficient than rolling on wheels. In order to walk, Prime would need far more power than a diesel engine could provide. Traditional robots are built upon one of three power sources-electric, pneumatic, or hydraulic. Due to the extreme weights involved, hydraulic power is the most likely source for Prime, because hydraulic actuators provide very high power-to-weight ratios (large power output for small power inputs).
They reside, for example, in the icy waters of Alaska, where hypothermia can claim a man in a matter of minutes. A storm can capsize a vessel or sweep men off the deck with a huge wave. Heavy fog hides other boats, and rough waters cover submerged rocks. Falling overboard is more common than you might think; not because fishers are clumsy, but because of all the equipment onboard a ship. If a crab-pot line happens to take you with it or you slip on a deck covered in fish innards, there's really only one place you're headed, and that's into the briny deep. Sometimes, men who aren't trained in diving are sent to untangle a net and never surface. And remember that, onboard a ship, medical attention is far away indeed -- part of the reason that 504 U.S. The Tin Woodman of Oz came by that body of tin after he chopped off his own limbs with an enchanted axe.
In the mind of most historians, this story puts the document in the realm of folklore. Even for those researchers who put stock into the Navigatio's underlying historical accuracy, many of the directions don't point to North America as the destination where Brendan ultimately landed. But there are documents that suggest an Irish presence in North America prior to the Vikings', including the accounts of the Vikings themselves. The Irish were known to the Norse (Vikings) as a seafaring group that had traveled far further than the Vikings had. In their sagas -- accounts of their people's exploits -- the Vikings speak of finding Irish missions when they arrived in Iceland in the 10th century. Another saga tells of meeting Native Americans who were already familiar with white men. A third saga relates that the Norse encountered a tribe of indigenous Americans who spoke a language that sounded like Irish, with which the Norse were familiar.|US President Joe Biden and Russian President Vladimir Putin spoke Saturday, as tensions over Ukraine reached a fever pitch following remarks by Washington that a Russian invasion was imminent. Biden spoke to Putin from Camp David, the US presidential retreat in Maryland. The call lasted over an hour. The US is ready to engage in diplomacy with Russia about the situation in Ukraine, but is "equally prepared for other scenarios," Biden told Putin. It is the first time the two leaders have spoken since December. Following the call, the Kremlin denounced US "peak hysteria" surrounding the Ukraine crisis, but said Putin and Biden had agreed to continue the dialogue. The Kremlin's top foreign policy adviser, Yury Ushakov, said Putin complained the West has been arming Ukraine and that Kyiv authorities have been "sabotaging" Western-brokered peace agreements to end a yearslong conflict in eastern Ukraine. The leaders' phone call came as several European countries have urged their citizens to leave Ukraine as soon as possible.
Art designer Brandon Knowlden created a buzz when he developed an ad campaign against obesity entitled "Obesity is Suicide," for the Western U.S. In addition to the man hanging himself with a rope made of sausages, the artist included a woman who has overdosed on candy and a man with a bomb made from butter sticks strapped to his chest. The campaign was originally geared toward weight loss through surgical means, although after an outcry against it, it's been unbranded. Perhaps now more than ever it serves its purpose of warning the public against the dangers of obesity. In an age where seasons no longer exist in grocery produce sections due to fast and relatively cheap transportation, it's extremely easy to overlook the environmental impact of that transportation. To combat this oversight, the sustainability community has created the concept of food miles, the amount of miles food travels from farm to store (and inherently the amount of greenhouse gases that travel generates).
