There are many assets to a video game. Localisation has to consider them all. Translation of text is a large chunk of localisation. Not just manuals, scripts and subtitles but utility software like word processors or an internet browser that makes the game interactive need translation into the target language. There will also be a need for company logos, legal labelling requirements, technical information, etc. to be translated. Space provided in the original will have to be suitably altered. Utilised to match the target language. Art assets have to be altered to retain game aesthetics. Audio recordings will have to be an expert job where accents. Mannerisms of the cast of characters need to be tweaked to suit local flavour. Cutting out parts of the game or adding on new content. Video game localisation aims to create an enjoyable experience. This is only possible if the game fits into the cultural context.
It makes whiskey's standard 40 percent (80 proof) seem like child's play, which is why absinthe is supposed to be diluted. Absinthe is not a hallucinogen; rather its alcohol content. Herbal flavor set it apart from other liquors. The anise, fennel and wormwood are soaked in alcohol, and the mixture is then distilled. The distillation process causes the herbal oils and the alcohol to evaporate, separating from the water and bitter essences released by the herbs. The fennel, anise and wormwood oils then recondense with the alcohol in a cooling area, and the distiller dilutes the resulting liquid down to whatever proof the absinthe is supposed to be (based on brand variations or regional laws). At this point, the absinthe is clear; many manufacturers add herbs to the mixture after distillation to get the classic green color from their chlorophyll. The chemical that's taken all the blame for absinthe's hallucinogenic reputation is called thujone, which is a component of wormwood.
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory is a very high energy gamma-ray detector located in Mexico. In late 2018, the HAWC collaboration completed a major upgrade consisting of the addition of a sparse outrigger array of 345 small water Cherenkov detectors (WCDs) surrounding the 300 WCDs of the main array and extending the instrumented area by a factor of 4. It provides an improved reconstruction of the showers whose core and footprint are not well contained in the array and increases the effective area in the range of a few TeV to beyond 100 TeV. This improvement in sensitivity will help to have a better understanding of the Galactic sources that accelerate particles up to the knee of the cosmic ray spectrum. In this contribution, we will show the current status, the performance, and the first results from the HAWC outrigger array. The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) is a very-high-energy gamma-ray observatory located at 4100 m altitude on the volcano Sierra Negra in the state of Puebla in central Mexico.
These mowers are limited to about 100 feet (30.5 meters) from the power source, though, and mowing around a cord can be tedious, so if you want a green mower for a large lawn, you'll want to consider a cordless, rechargeable battery-powered lawn mower. You can even find battery-powered riding mowers. Finally, some people swear by old-fashioned push mowers. In fact, many insist that push mowers using today's designs aren't much harder to push than heavier gas-powered mowers, and you'll get a workout while you do your chores. Like chain saws, many lawn trimmers use an oil-and-gas mixture that sends pollutants into the air. While handy for keeping a lawn looking great, gas-powered trimmers offend the senses and the environment. New, green lawn trimmers that are currently gaining in popularity run on propane fuel instead of gas. Propane-powered trimmers are far easier to use; you don't have to worry about clogged lines and carburetors.|The National Gang Center (NGC) conducted an annual survey of law enforcement agencies between 1996-2012 to assess the extent of gang problems by measuring the presence, characteristics, and behaviors of local gangs in jurisdictions throughout the United States. This Web resource contains analysis. Findings from the National Youth Gang Surveys (NYGS). Numerous charts and descriptions are provided as a resource for understanding gang problems. There is no widely or universally accepted definition of a “gang” among law enforcement agencies - see NGC’s compilation of gang-related legislation. To capture the varying yet largely overlapping definitional criteria across jurisdictions, the NYGS requests recipients to report information for youth gangs, defined as “a group of youths or young adults in your jurisdiction that you or other responsible persons in your agency or community are willing to identify as a ‘gang.’” Respondents are requested to exclude motorcycle gangs, hate or ideology groups, prison gangs, and exclusively adult gangs from survey responses since these latter groups are characteristically distinct from youth gangs.
Digital computing, however, changed everything. Just consider meteorology, the scientific study of atmosphere and weather. Computer advancements allowed meteorologists to move beyond mere observation-based predictions and implement numerical weather prediction (NWP) models, in which computers pull past and present atmospheric data to construct predictive models of future weather. The science of weather prediction is far from perfect, but better equations, more powerful computers and a widening array of atmospheric data sets continue to improve the accuracy of our simulations. But can we really simulate the world itself? To find out, we have to travel the waters of big data. In the case of weather simulations, the computer models require an expansive diet of both past and present atmospheric readings -- everything from the temperature in Aberdeen, Scotland, to Earth's current distance from the sun. It all comes together to form a more complete picture of the world's weather. Humans have amassed vast collections of data on a range of topics, yet in most cases these data sets stand apart from one another.
