The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory is a very high energy gamma-ray detector located in Mexico. In late 2018, the HAWC collaboration completed a major upgrade consisting of the addition of a sparse outrigger array of 345 small water Cherenkov detectors (WCDs) surrounding the 300 WCDs of the main array and extending the instrumented area by a factor of 4. It provides an improved reconstruction of the showers whose core and footprint are not well contained in the array and increases the effective area in the range of a few TeV to beyond 100 TeV. This improvement in sensitivity will help to have a better understanding of the Galactic sources that accelerate particles up to the knee of the cosmic ray spectrum. In this contribution, we will show the current status, the performance, and the first results from the HAWC outrigger array. The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) is a very-high-energy gamma-ray observatory located at 4100 m altitude on the volcano Sierra Negra in the state of Puebla in central Mexico.
The rebel group's commander, Major Jamil al-Saleh, said the offensive, accompanied by air cover and shelling, came from three fronts, including Latamneh, north of the Hama province where his group is based, and Kfar Zeita to the north. The offensive targeted the rural part of northern Hama and Idlib, the northwestern province, almost totally controlled by rebel groups, he said. Activist Ahmad al-Ahmad, who is currently in Idlib, said government troops are 'heavily' shelling central areas after rebels attacked an army post and destroyed a tank there. The Observatory, which has a network of activists on the ground, and al-Ahmad said the main launching point for government forces is the town of Morek on the highway that links the capital, Damascus, with the northern city of Aleppo, Syria's largest city and former commercial centre. Britain is sending troops to the Baltic to ward off the threat of Russia, the Defence Secretary will announce today. Michael Fallon will tell Nato the UK is to deploy a unit of more than 120 soldiers. They are expected to be based in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to reassure states fearing attacks from Moscow. It follows the deployment of RAF Typhoon jets, which spent summer protecting Baltic airspace. The Local Co-ordination Committees, another activist group, said rebels were able to destroy two tanks and an armored personnel carrier in northern parts of Hama province near Idlib. The Observatory said a total of 37 Russian air raids areas hit the area of fighting on Wednesday alone. It said two helicopters - believed to be Russian - were seen flying at low altitude in Morek. It added that militants opened fire at the helicopters without striking them. It was not immediately clear if the pilots were Russian or Syrian.|Over recent years the leaders of Majlis practically have come out against interests of Crimean Tartar People. Mustafa Dzhemilev and some other leaders of Crimean Tartars try to mistake their own group objectives for the interests of the whole national group. Herein, the actions of disobedience of Crimean Tartars, instigated by the noted persons, are used actively, allegedly, for the sake of defending of their rights, but in actual for the purpose of creation conditions for carrying out pressure on Ukrainian leadership. All mentioned above happens when the Ukrainian leadership does its utmost to improve economic and social situation of the Crimean Tartars even in the conditions of world financial crisis, which has appreciably worsened and added to difficulties of economic situation in Ukraine. Recently held, "the third session of the 5 th Kurultai of Crimean Tatar people" actually reaffirmed that the leaders of "Majlis" intend to challenge the current Ukrainian authorities. Crimean Tatar people and is considered as if its unofficial "parliament", widely known for the extremely nationalistic and russophobic positions. On the eve of local elections in Ukraine the leaders of Majlis try to put pressure upon the Ukrainian leadership in issues, surrounding delineation of powers concerning participation of Crimean Tatars in formation of local authorities and the President's of Ukraine Council of Representatives amid further internationalization of Crimean Tatars issue. Dzhemilev's pronouncements, which he made during his meetings with the European Union representatives as well as his comments on events in the autonomy are biassed and groundless. Their single purpose is to focus the representatives of the European Community attention on Dzhemilev himself and some other marginal Crimean Tartars leaders, who increasingly lose people's support. The Tartar people positively perceive the policy of the leadership of Ukraine, directed on improvement of their social and economic conditions and oppose the course of Majlis on artificial separation of this ethnic group from the other citizens of Ukraine.
Instead, it will be built into a tough but pliable fabric frame. Even the screen will able to bend and fold and will have a thickness and flexibility similar to a laminated sheet of paper. Furthermore, how could it be predicted to hit the market in just a few years? Experts say it will be available in 2 to 10 years. Find out why this technology really is right around the corner and why some of its seemingly futuristic features aren't actually so different from what's being offered by products available on the market today. Keep reading to learĀn how a computer could be built within a flexible fabric frame instead of a more traditional rigid metal housing. Conventional computer hard disk drives are large and bulky, but flash memory, common today in memory sticks and cameras, is a possible lightweight alternative for memory storage in the laptops of tomorrow. To understand how a laptop computer could be designed to be flexible, let's first consider why conventional laptops aren't flexible.
First, gravity is a force that causes objects to attract one another. The simplest way to understand gravity is through Isaac Newton's law of universal gravitation. This law states that every particle in the universe attracts every other particle. The more massive an object is, the more strongly it attracts other objects. The closer objects are, the more strongly they attract each other. An enormous object, like the Earth, easily attracts objects that are close to it, like apples hanging from trees. Scientists haven't decided exactly what causes this attraction, but they believe it exists everywhere in the universe. Second, air is a fluid that behaves essentially the same way liquids do. Like liquids, air is made of microscopic particles that move in relation to one another. Air also moves like water does -- in fact, some aerodynamic tests take place underwater instead of in the air. The particles in gasses, like the ones that make up air, are simply farther apart and move faster than the particles in liquids.
The NLOS cannon: The reason your day's about to take a turn for the worst. See more images of the Army. It's 2012, and you find yourself in the precarious position of being a soldier in a military that's embattled against the United States. The caravan of armored vehicles you're a part of comes to a halt. An unmanned aerial drone has just appeared over the horizon, flying toward the caravan. You and several members of your platoon are ordered out of your vehicle to destroy the reconnaissance drone. You look upward to the curious sight of several small parachutes suspending what looks like canisters, drifting toward the caravan. Strangely, despite a crosswind that should be carrying the canisters away, you notice that each one is headed directly for a vehicle. You hear someone shout "cluster bomb!" in your native language, followed by a body-rattling, quick succession of explosions. Your vision blurs, you hear only a single high-frequency note.
