This lets you scan the articles on the page more efficiently. Sometimes you'll even spot more headlines that you might never have seen buried on the original page. Don't feel badly if you haven't heard of RSS -- you may have already come into contact with it without knowing its name. Some Web-browsing software automatically detects RSS feeds. Firefox and Opera display the now-common square orange badge for a Web feed in the browser's address bar when they find RSS feeds on a site. You'll see a similar symbol in Internet Explorer's toolbar. Safari shows a blue rectangle with "RSS" written in white letters. Those emblems show the presence of active RSS feeds on a site to help you get started. Click on one, though, and you'll get a list of options which may seem a little intimidating if you don't know what they mean. Some sites have multiple feeds for the same page with different versions of RSS or a competing standard, Atom.|So is Putin actually going to wait a whole week before moving militarily? I don't see him getting enough consessions from the West to satisfy him and his ego. The whole NATO question appears to be a non-starter. I suppose Biden/NATO could promise to never put NATO bases or missles in Ukraine in return for a no attack/interference pledge from Putin. But even that would be a stretch, for both sides. I don't think Ukraine would willing cede its eastern regions and thats not Biden's call anyway, and it certain wouldn't happen without assurances (for whatever they migh be worth) from Russian to stand down and leave the rest of Ukraine to its own people. Someone else equated Ukraine to a hostage, it has some merit. If Putin starts an all out assult he will lose a lot a leverage and face international sactions and commedenation. Not that he cares enough for it to be a effective deterrent.
If an error is detected, then a correction process is performed in the final stage. The mechanism to correct errors is an application-specific task. Our method allows flexibility in how errors are corrected. The advantage of this model is that users have the illusion of both a fast and accurate object detection. The downside is the possibility of short-term errors. This pattern of the multi-stage model is useful for applications that require fast response but where the full model cannot be used within the desired time restrictions. We formalize and analyze the transactions (a transaction is a group of database read/write operations that represents a task or a program) in Croesus using a formal multi-stage transaction model. Our model divides transactions into two sections: an initial. A final sections (we also show how this model can be extended to multiple sections). The initial section is responsible for updating the system using the results of the initial object detection stage, and the final transaction is responsible for finalizing/correcting state using the results of the final (object detection) stage.|On this page, you will find a few video clips of me solving the cube. You will need the (free) DivX codec, to view the movies. Also, if you want to view them frame by frame, I was told that you need VirtualDub under the GNU license. I have also put some of my favorite finger tricks because they are a lot of fun. In "Stick", I reach 10 moves per second for three seconds. Overall, it was a lot of fun to watch myself on the screen. It is a completely different experience! This was my first solve in 16.74 sec. You can tell that I am still stiff in it because of the delays between algorithms. The time was not that bad considering my rough cubing style. The F2L were in 9 seconds, which was not bad, but then I got stuck in the permutation algorithm. OK, I will be critical to myself again.
Oil prices jumped nearly $3 per barrel on unease about possible disruption of Russian supplies. Earlier, Wall Street’s benchmark S&P 500 index fell 1.8% to an eight-month low after the Kremlin said rebels in eastern Ukraine asked for military assistance. Investors already were uneasy about the possible impact of the Federal Reserve’s plans to try to cool inflation by withdrawing ultra-low interest rates and other stimulus that boosted share prices. Ukrainian Ambassador Sergiy Kyslytsya said Wednesday night that if Russian Ambassador Vassily Nebenzia was not in a position to give a positive answer, he should relinquish the presidency of the Security Council, which Russia holds this month. The Ukrainian then asked for another emergency meeting of the Security Council, calling on the U.N. Kyslytsya then asked if he should play the video of Putin announcing military operations being launched in Ukraine. Nebenzia replied: “This isn’t called a war. WASHINGTON - President Joe Biden is condemning Russia for an “unprovoked and unjustified attack” on Ukraine.
Make important decisions about the focus of your civilization: Do you want to build up your military and be a nation of conquerors, or invest in scientific research and win the game through technological development? There are several ways to win the game -- military victory, scientific victory, economic victory or cultural victory -- and you decide the focus and results through the decisions you make and how you choose to allocate your resources. But don't forget to balance the needs of a growing society with your goal of winning the game! You can play some of the Magic School Bus games for free online through the Scholastic Web site. Who says school's not fun? Certainly not Ms. Frizzle's students. Join the eccentric Ms. Frizzle and her class as they take a trip on the Magic School Bus, engaging in a little bit of mischief and a whole lot of science learning.
Widely considered the first soap opera super couple, Luke (Anthony Geary) and Laura (Genie Francis) of "General Hospital" began their relationship in 1979 with a controversial storyline, when Laura fell in love with Luke despite his having raped her in a violent drunken encounter. Throughout the course of their story, their love has weathered storms that only a soap opera could serve up with a straight face: Laura died, was brought back to life, gave birth to a son as the result of an adulterous affair with Stavros Cassadine, and much later tragically ended up in a catatonic state after being unable to cope with the fact that she had killed her stepfather. Laura briefly slipped back into her helpless state, then revived enough to leave town, supposedly so she could receive medical treatments to prevent her catatonic episodes. Their fate remains unsettled, but our money's on at least one more go-round before this story runs its course. Ross and Rachel's frequent breakups and misunderstandings proved to be more fun to watch than their so-so chemistry as a couple.|Some scientists think ocean pipes could bring down carbon dioxide levels by stimulating upwelling. It seems like global warming gets worse by the minute as every day brings news of ice shelves melting, coral reefs dying and sea levels rising. Despite environmentalists' best efforts, it sometimes looks as though we're not going to able to save ourselves fast enough from the looming catastrophe that is climate change. But if we can't do it ourselves, can we get the Earth to do it for us? Scientists suggest that by placing giant tubes in the oceans, we can encourage the natural process of upwelling, whereby cold, nutrient-rich water rises to the ocean surface and stimulates the growth of phytoplankton, or algae. The algae in turn consume large amounts of carbon dioxide for photosynthesis, lowering atmospheric levels of the greenhouse gas. Dimethyl sulfide produced in the process could also encourage the formation of clouds to reflect the sun's rays. The vertical tubes wouldn't require any outside energy input, and would instead rely on the natural energy of wave motion to force water up their 656-foot (200-meter) length.
