The dialogue you type on your computer screen might be spoken by world-famous actors. Your detailed scene descriptions might be transformed into special-effects spectacles. And someday, this humble 135-page script tied together with brass tacks might be a blockbuster movie seen by millions. What exactly are some of the different types of screenwriters? How do they break into the business? And what are the tools of the trade? Keep reading to find out more. Sony's Matt Tolmach, left, with director/screenwriter Adam McKay at the "Step Brothers" premiere. A screenwriter is a screenwriter is a screenwriter. It's what they write that's different. Many screenwriters can write for TV, film, comedies and dramas, but the way they approach the work changes considerably with the specific type of project. TV comedy writers, for example, not only have to be funny, but they also have to be able to work in a highly collaborative, sometimes pressure-filled environment. Sitcom screenwriting is a group effort. A typical sitcom might have 10 or 12 full-time staff writers.
Humans have the right to assemble. Form peaceful associations with one another. In the United States, we're guaranteed certain rights by the Constitution, but what rights do we have just by being virtue of being human? Before we understand human rights organizations (HROs), we have to understand human rights. The Universal Declaration of Human Rights, created after World War II as a framework for developing international human rights guidelines, is based on the idea that all people are born with the capacity for conscience and therefore deserve to be treated with dignity. We have the right to live and work where we choose, to marry and have families, to hold our own opinions and to be free from arbitrary attacks and arrests. We also have the right to our own religion and opinions, as well as the right to assemble and form peaceful associations with our fellow humans. Maybe these rights sound obvious, but it's a big deal to have a documented and widely accepted accord on just what it means to be a human.
Resembling a large bottle of nasal spray, SteriPEN is a compact device which uses ultraviolet light to sterilize water and make it safe for drinking. So how do these travel gadgets work, and how do you choose the most appropriate SteriPEN for your needs? In the next section, we'll look into the mechanics of how this amazing travel gadget works. The SteriPEN has the physical appearance of a pen and it sterilizes water. That's pretty straightforward, right? But what's amazing is how the SteriPEN rids water of those pathogens we learned about earlier. The key is ultraviolet light. Ultraviolet light is energy-rich, electromagnetic energy naturally emitted from the sun. And while it can also have many adverse affects (this is why we wear sunscreen), when introduced to contaminated water, it destroys the ability for bacteria and viruses to reproduce. Once the DNA or RNA in virus or bacteria absorbs the UV light, it can no longer reproduce, effectively killing the organism and making it harmless to the human body.
Whether you opt for SugarSync or Dropbox really depends on what you want from your storage provider. While both apps have their strong points -- Dropbox offers better security, while SugarSync has a better sharing model -- those looking for easy-to-use file storage are probably best suited with Dropbox; tech-savvy users who need some additional features will probably be happier with SugarSync. Whichever one you choose, you'll have the option to access your files wherever you go. Cloud storage means that you're saving your files to a remote database. That way, you can save and retrieve data from any computer or device with web access -- and you don't have to carry a memory stick or external drive. Check out How Cloud Storage Works to learn more. There's a good chance you've gone paperless with your bags at the grocery store, so why not go paperless with your shopping list?|Now that Russian President Vladimir Putin has recognised the independence of separatist enclaves in eastern Ukraine and ordered in "peacekeeping" troops, the big question is: where will he stop? Western countries have been warning for weeks that Moscow may be preparing for a possible all-out massed invasion to conquer its neighbour. Russia denies this, and Putin's moves so far have stopped well short of such a scenario. But a televised address by Putin on Monday night - in which he characterised the Ukrainian state. Its leaders as illegitimate - added to fears that he may aim to subjugate Ukraine by force. While many commentators believe that sending troops into the separatist enclaves could be a first step towards a wider invasion, others note that it could also be a place to stop - or at least pause in terms of action on the ground - while trying to apply pressure to Ukraine in other ways.
