The report entitled Estimated Use of Water in the United States in 2005 issued by the U.S. Geological Survey estimates that 14% of Americans obtain their drinking H2O from private wells that are not protected under the SDWA. It is up to each household to learn about and understand the water they are drinking, especially households acquiring their water from a private well.
