The principle of the PRP therapy method.
The essence of PRP therapy is that the same biological material is used to treat a person's joints: own blood plasma, enriched with platelets. In short, a portion of venous blood is taken from the patient, divided into liquid plasma and red blood cell mass using a centrifuge and a number of technological processes. After that, the liquid fraction is injected into the cavity of the diseased joint. Platelet-rich plasma contains up to 1 million of these nuclear-free cells in 1 ml (for comparison, there will be only 150-300 thousand platelets in 1 ml of whole blood). The resulting plasma is rich in biologically active components: growth factors, calcium and potassium ions, energy molecules of ATP, etc.

Five biological components are of key importance for PRP therapy:
Platelet growth factor (PDGF) – triggers the growth of new blood vessels, the production of dense collagen molecules.
Fibroblast Growth Factor (FGF)– activates cells that synthesize new cartilage tissue from the emerging substrate.
Transforming growth factor β (TGF-β) - is responsible for the processes of healing, restoration of damaged tissues.
The epidermal growth factor (EGF) is similar in effects to the previous one, TGF - β.
Vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) is of key importance for the growth of cells lining the vessels, without it, recovery processes are virtually impossible, for which blood and its transport function are needed – to bring the necessary components, oxygen, and carry away waste slags.
