I think it works like this. In this order, the CEO notes the falling share price, fails to recognise that he knows very little about stock markets, hears that his stock is being bad-mouthed, learns that naughty bulletin board posters are slagging his company off and, then, makes a call to the company's solicitors. The partner in charge, ever anxious to put another few hours in his time diary at £1,000 an hour, instead of urging the CEO of his client to go back to bed and forget about it, immediately winds him up by stressing that such comment is quite disgraceful and offers to "help". What of course he means is helping himself to his client's money.

I here have in mind the goings on at Gulf Keystone (GKP). There is no need to recite them here in detail. However, apparently, some jolly rotters posited a placing at 160p which some gullible private investors believed in a generally weak market would occur. They seem to have sold. However, it would be hard to argue that the placing was the only reason for the sales and, in any event, harder still to argue that the 160p story permanently depressed the share price. Finally, Gulf has got form here - it has sprung placings at a great discount before. Methinks Mr Kozel may be engaged in a distraction move. I decided to go short Gulf.

If he was any good he would of shorted it from 4.20

BUT .... I do like the fella and respect his record ..the FAT B..............

He posts his diaries on t1ps.com which is a subscription site £70 per year..
So i dont think a link will work.. I will take a look later and see what else he has posted on GKP.

No it hasnt... I thought for just over a £1 per week tho it was worth a punt..

Looking back at evils previous posts he was long on GKP but recently i emailed about his short on Range and he told me he closed his short a while back, but it still shows him being short on range on his "short" list.that is posted 2-3 times a week..
Bad form imo..

It's all about timing innit.

We're at the sharp end of the politics. It'll be possible to claim making money shorting no matter how small an amount if you claim the ins and outs whenever you want. But, if any of the well known blockages are removed the others will probably follow quickly and the SP will fly.

Very difficult to make a small amount shorting. Big chance of making a lot holding. Tiny weeny chance of complete disaster. I reckon.

Thanks, have it in my SIPP and haven't really paid much attention to it lately apart from watching it fall, was going to start looking in to the time scales but based on your comments I'll leave it!

Do you think it's near it's bottom or will keep slowly falling until news?
