The information the CDC circulates is intended to be a snapshot of current flu trends, not specific numbers of people who caught the flu during that flu season or year. The focus is on whether flu outbreaks are occurring, where flu is being reported, when it was reported and which influenza viruses are to blame. While the data released by the CDC provides an accurate picture of flu trends, that data, once it's compiled and analyzed, is also one to two weeks old. It can't tell you whether a new pocket of flu emerged in a specific city over the previous weekend, but it's good for measuring the overall impact of flu on the U.S. For instance, by monitoring which strains of influenza were circulating in the 2014 flu season, CDC epidemiologists were able to tell with data collected between Oct. 1 and Nov. 22 that one of the three chosen strains included in that year's flu shot had mutated, and the vaccine would be less effective that season.
Given that the camera can pan while viewing the field, the system has to be able to recalculate the perspective at a rate of 30 frames per second as the camera moves. A football field is not flat -- it crests very gently in the middle to help rainwater run off. So the line calculated by the system has to appropriately follow the curve of the field. A football game is filmed by multiple cameras at different places in the stadium, so the system has to do all of this work for several cameras. The system has to be able to sense when players, referees or the ball crosses the first-down line so it does not paint the line right on top of them. The system also has to be aware of superimposed graphics that the network might overlay on the scene. A key piece of hardware used in the system is a special camera mount that holds the television cameras.
For this reason, it is not only the amount of demand that truly matters to a local economy. The mix of consumers also has a major impact on a local economy, and therefore must be thoroughly examined in all trade area analyses. Unfortunately, far too much information often is included in these studies. An enormous amount of data is readily available from a variety of private and public sources, leaving the reader with tables and tables of demographic information overload. Interpretation of demographic data is often missing in market analysis. What does the data say about how the market is changing and how consumers spend their time and money? Specifically, what does the data suggest about new business or real estate opportunities downtown? Population and households data allow you to quantify the current market size and extrapolate future growth. Population is defined as all persons living in a geographic area.
Speech Recognition Projection Geometry Bilingual Video Processing. Human activity recognition can strongly benefit from the combined use of audio and video data. For our paper, we want to investigate the use of video data to reconstruct the speaker geometry in 3D and then use this information to develop a speaker recognition system. Our approach addresses the strong need to develop a speech recognition system that can help transcribe student conversations from video recordings of collaborative learning environments. We present an example in Figure 1. In this example, a small group of students is sitting around the table, using the keyboard to program the Raspberry Pi. POSTSUBSCRIPT) with respect to the omnidirectional microphone placed on the center of the table. In Fig. 1, we also see several other speakers talking in the background (refer to green dots). The students speak in both Spanish and English. Student speech recognition in this environment is very challenging due to cross-talk, background noise, and the use of multiple languages.
Lots of sites that publish regular information have their own RSS feeds, like Marshall Brain's BrainStuff weblog. The trouble with living in the Information Age is paradoxical: There's too much information. It's everywhere. How are you supposed to keep track of all the news, sports, weather and blogs you follow? Better yet, how are you going to do that and find time for work, school and family? If you're addicted to the constant flow of data that we know as the Internet, you're not going to be able to manage it without some help. One way to keep track of it all has grown very popular since its introduction in 1997: RSS. Short for Really Simple Syndication (at least now -- more on that later), RSS is a way to subscribe to a source of information, such as a Web site, and get brief updates delivered to you. When you subscribe, you'll get a feed -- often a series of headlines and brief summaries -- of all the articles published on that particular Web page.
