117th Congress: Sen. Mike Rounds (R-S.D.)

It’s a natural part of living in the information age: You start to feel sick, so you Google your symptoms. Both the common cold and the flu will make you feel miserable, and because both are respiratory infections with similar symptoms - coughing, aching, headache, you know the drill - it can be difficult to know which one has you in its grip. Every year, anywhere from five to 20 percent of the U.S. While many sufferers will find relief in over-the-counter medicines, influenza can be serious. Influenza-related complications may require hospitalization, and sometimes complications can be fatal. Influenza, together with pneumonia (both are lower respiratory infections), ranked as the eighth leading cause of death in the U.S. For its tracking purposes, the CDC considers a fever of at least 100 degrees Fahrenheit (37.8 degrees Celsius) with a cough and/or a sore throat to be an ILI. Beginning on the 40th week of the year - which is the beginning of the October to May flu season - the CDC distributes weekly influenza activity reports.|If you have spent any time on the dating circuit, you know it can be a frustrating time. I know any number of acquaintances and friends, men and women, who have been looking for years and for one reason or another they have not been able to find a suitable partner. One option that most of us midlife men haven't seriously considered is the opportunities out there to date and marry foreign women. The idea and practice of the 'mail-order bride' has been around a long time and today business is booming. The internet has made these far-away possibilities available right on your computer screen. You can email them, video chat with them, and talk with them by phone. All of a sudden they aren't so foreign anymore. In my conversations with some of the folks in the industry, revenue has continued to grow through the 2007-2010 recession. My contact stated that the primary demographic for this type of business is comprised of midlife men, those over forty.
As far as we know, Heron's device - a water-fed sphere, mounted on its axis above a heat source, that spun thanks to steam escaping from two bent tubes sticking out from its middle -never attained more than amusement status. A c. fourth-century Roman bath came complete with a hypocaust beneath the floor of its hot room to keep Roman toes toasty warm. Heron was not alone taking delight in vaporous water. A Greek living in Egypt, he was part of the first-century Roman Empire, and the Romans knew their way around steam. No mere watery tubs, various bath complexes featured outdoor sports areas, food stands, servants, dressing rooms, cold rooms, warm rooms and, of course, a steamy Caldarium. Today, our homes use indirect heat, in which heat energy from a central source flows through the house via air, steam or water. After Rome's collapse, Europe mostly returned to its pits and hearths for heat.|There are innumerable colleges offering different streams of education in the arts, science and commerce steams and these are distributed in various countries. In case of the students willing to appear in the qualifying examinations and going for the higher studies, the choice of the colleges hold importance. When people decide to study in the best colleges and universities, they need to keep in mind certain factors. These factors are to be decided, keeping in mind a few important considerations. Top universities in Latvia have allowed local students to find best study atmosphere and ambience in their own land. Here, not only the cost of study is less, but also the quality of education matches the foreign universities in the surrounding. Staying in one's own country is cheaper and there is no need to spend excessive money for finding accommodations and travelling abroad. To encourage more students to enroll in the top universities in Latvia, world class facilities are being provided in these institutes.
Bonnie, a Brindle Great Dane, with Sparkle, a Chihuahua mix. The relationship between people and dogs goes back at least 15,000 years, making dogs potentially the first animal to be domesticated. In that time, dogs have played many roles and performed many jobs for their human companions. Dogs come in a startling variety of shapes and sizes, but from the giant and noble Great Dane to the tiny and tenacious Chihuahua, they are all one species with one basic history. In this article, we'll explore where dogs came from and why they look and act the way they do. We'll also learn what recent genetic work has to tell us about our dogs. Talk about how to find the right dog for you. Canids are part of a larger group called Carnivora, which also includes bears, cats and seals. Fossils show us that Canidae split off from the common ancestors of Carnivora about 40 million years ago. From about 15 million years ago, we can subdivide Canidae into three subgroups: fox-like animals, wolf-like animals and South American canids, such as the maned wolf and crab-eating fox.
Instead, it will be built into a tough but pliable fabric frame. Even the screen will able to bend and fold and will have a thickness and flexibility similar to a laminated sheet of paper. Furthermore, how could it be predicted to hit the market in just a few years? Experts say it will be available in 2 to 10 years. Find out why this technology really is right around the corner and why some of its seemingly futuristic features aren't actually so different from what's being offered by products available on the market today. Keep reading to learn how a computer could be built within a flexible fabric frame instead of a more traditional rigid metal housing. Conventional computer hard disk drives are large and bulky, but flash memory, common today in memory sticks and cameras, is a possible lightweight alternative for memory storage in the laptops of tomorrow. To understand how a laptop computer could be designed to be flexible, let's first consider why conventional laptops aren't flexible.
The outrigger array is composed of 345 tanks filled with purified water. Each tank is 1.55 m in diameter and 1.65 m in height and they are separated with distance between 12 to 18 m. They are equipped by a single Hamamatsu R5912 8” photomulitplier tube (PMT) upward facing and anchored at the bottom of the tank. In order to limit the cable length between tanks and the readout electronics, the array is divided into 5 sections, named with letters from A to E (see Fig 1) containing 69 tanks each. The equipment needed to run and acquire the data for each section is centralised into nodes located in the middle of each section. The deployment of the outrigger array happened between September 2017. September 2018 (the timeline can be seen in Figure 1). The array has been continuously taking data since then. Analogue signals from the PMTs are sent through RG-59 cables to the node. This signal is separated from the HV that powers the PMT by a pick-off module.|Image Gallery: Car Safety Not all cars are created equal. See pictures of car safety features. Before automobile manufacturers began paying J.D. Power and Associates for insights into their clientele, Dave Power was a Ford employee who didn't find management especially receptive to consumer opinions. That would change in time, but not before Power launched what would become the world's largest automobile consumer-research company. In the beginning, J. D. "Dave" Power III worked around the periphery of the auto industry, taking early jobs as a financial analyst for Ford and doing marketing research for Buick. He briefly worked for a company that produced chainsaws, where he convinced management that chainsaws shouldn't be made and marketed with only the tree in mind, but the consumer as well. A switch to a lighter chainsaw that the company's customer base wanted proved Power right, and sales for the company soared.S. Power, though, held firm to a belief that companies could benefit by analyzing unbiased polling information from consumers of their products.
