Whether you opt for SugarSync or Dropbox really depends on what you want from your storage provider. While both apps have their strong points -- Dropbox offers better security, while SugarSync has a better sharing model -- those looking for easy-to-use file storage are probably best suited with Dropbox; tech-savvy users who need some additional features will probably be happier with SugarSync. Whichever one you choose, you'll have the option to access your files wherever you go. Cloud storage means that you're saving your files to a remote database. That way, you can save and retrieve data from any computer or device with web access -- and you don't have to carry a memory stick or external drive. Check out How Cloud Storage Works to learn more. There's a good chance you've gone paperless with your bags at the grocery store, so why not go paperless with your shopping list?|An artist's concept of what an early lunar base might entail. See more moon pictures. So far, the moon has proven to be a terribly difficult place to visit, but we'd really love to live there. Despite years of planning, we haven't so much as set foot on it in decades -- much less established a permanent base of operations. Yet the benefits of a lunar colony would be many. A moon base would serve as the first step toward ensuring the long-term survival of the human race -- toward exploring and colonizing farther reaches of the universe. It would provide a foothold from which to improve our spaceflight technology, explore the lunar surface and expand our scientific understanding. Industry, economics and unification of the human race are all great reasons set up camp on the moon, yet none of them has propelled the construction of a permanent operation, such as the U.S.
It captured the important seaports, one after another. It maintained a blockade that made increasingly difficult the exchange of cotton for manufactured goods on which the South depended for its life, and finally shut it off completely. At the same time, except for the depredations of the Alabama, the seas were kept open for the commerce and other communications of the North. These services make an impressive total, even in the briefest summary. What, by comparison, have been the results attained by British sea-power? On the side of strictly strategic or tactical achievement, the story is disappointing. There has been no New Orleans or Mobile Bay, to say nothing of a Nile or Trafalgar. In fact, things seem to have missed fire since the day the Goeben and the Breslau slipped through the Mediterranean fleet at the very outbreak of the war. There was the failure to send adequate support to Cradock in the Pacific.
Christopher Rycroft, the paper's corresponding author. He's an associate professor in the John Al Paulson School of Engineering and Applied Sciences at Harvard University, and head of the Rycroft Group for scientific computing and mathematical modeling. Rycroft writes in an email. In the experiment, thin sheets of Mylar, a thin film that crumples similarly to paper, were systematically crumpled several times, developing some new creases with each repetition," Andrejevic, the 2021 paper's lead author, explains via email. "In between crumples, the sheets were carefully flattened and their height profile scanned using an instrument called a profilometer. That same theory can accurately explain how the facets of the crumpled sheet break up over time as more creases form," Rycroft says. "We can also use it to estimate how the sheet becomes weaker after crumpling, and thereby explain how the accumulation of mileage slows down. This allows us to explain the mileage results -.
The device's current name comes from Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams, for the dreamlike experience the headset is supposed to evoke. Despite not being ready for market, Project Morpheus has a lot of cool components and capabilities. Read on to find out what technical details we know as of mid-2014. The current Project Morpheus prototype is a sleek black and white wearable VR headset. It has a 5-inch (12.7-centimeter) LCD display with 1920 by 1080 pixel (960 by 1080 per eye) resolution, which users will view through special lenses. In order to mimic 3D binocular vision, each eye will see a slightly different rendering of an image at a different angle. The device provides a 90-degree horizontal field of view for people wearing glasses -- possibly more for others. They have built 15mm to 25mm of eye relief into the headset. It also allows for a wide range of interpupillary distance (IPD). The headset incorporates inertial sensors (gyroscopes and accelerometers) to track head motion and orientation.|If you grew up listening to Casey Kasem's American Top 40, keeping your own list of the top songs and digging the behind-the-scenes tidbits of information Casey gave during the show, you're not alone. The syndicated American Top 40 radio show was one of the most successful in the history of pop music. The snippets of information about your favorite recording artists, sentimental long-distance dedications, and Casey's personal flair for teasers that kept you listening made the show the success that it was and still is today. The heart of the show, however, is the music. Those chosen 40 songs that fall at the top of the Hot 100 chart -- and sometimes stay there for a while -- are compiled by Billboard Magazine and are based on some pretty amazing research. But what information does Billboard look at? How does music promotion affect what you hear on the radio? And, how does what you hear on the radio affect what music sells?
Even with incredible results, Warner-Lambert still wasn't sure the drug could successfully enter the cholesterol market. So is the success of Lipitor due to a great ad campaign or actual results? We'll take a look at what Lipitor does in your body on the next page. Lipitor is in a class of cholesterol-lowering drugs known as statins. Statins were created in Japan in the early 1970s, after research showed that an enzyme called hydroxyl-methylglutaryl-coenzyme A (HMG-CoA), located in the liver, produced as much as 80 percent of the cholesterol count in the body. While people can directly affect 20 percent of their cholesterol count by watching their diet, there was nothing on the market that directly went after that cholesterol-creating machine. The first statin, mevastatin, was developed in Japan in 1971, and several others followed over the years. Lipitor is the marketing name for atorvastatin. Statins work by inhibiting HMG-CoA. Not only does that reduce the amount of cholesterol that's produced, it means that the liver pulls some of that extra cholesterol out of the blood stream.
