The NLOS cannon: The reason your day's about to take a turn for the worst. See more images of the Army. It's 2012, and you find yourself in the precarious position of being a soldier in a military that's embattled against the United States. The caravan of armored vehicles you're a part of comes to a halt. An unmanned aerial drone has just appeared over the horizon, flying toward the caravan. You and several members of your platoon are ordered out of your vehicle to destroy the reconnaissance drone. You look upward to the curious sight of several small parachutes suspending what looks like canisters, drifting toward the caravan. Strangely, despite a crosswind that should be carrying the canisters away, you notice that each one is headed directly for a vehicle. You hear someone shout "cluster bomb!" in your native language, followed by a body-rattling, quick succession of explosions. Your vision blurs, you hear only a single high-frequency note.
Whether they'll spring for a Urus remains to be seen. But, remember, Lamborghini is trying to attract new markets here, too. Lamborghini. Based on preproduction versions of the Urus, Lamborghini is off to a good start. Let's take a quick look at Lamborghini's history for a moment, and its first sport ute, the LM002 -- aka the Rambo Lambo. It was a military truck that was produced between 1986 and 1993, and some production LM002s were allocated to civilians. An Italian parallel to the Humvee, if you will -- and there was a physical resemblance to the Humvee, too. So, anyone bemoaning that Lamborghini is selling out by making an SUV is just wrong. It's not only the automotive press pointing out the ties to the Rambo Lambo, either. If the concept car is an indication (and it should be) the Urus will definitely have the look and the feel of a Lamborghini. Lamborghini's description of the vehicle's profile. Rest assured that Lamborghini will make sure its new high-priced SUV will be loaded with the same kind of amenities as its more established high-priced sports cars.|Western officials said Bashar al-Assad's days were numbered. Predicted he would soon be forced to the negotiating table. It did not turn out that way. Last July, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad seemed to be losing his battle against rebel forces. Speaking to supporters in Damascus, he acknowledged his Army's heavy losses. Western officials said the Syrian leader's days were numbered. Predicted he would soon be forced to the negotiating table. It did not turn out that way. Secret preparations were already underway for a major deployment of Russian and Iranian forces in support of Mr. Assad. The military intervention, taking many in the West by surprise, would roll back rebel gains. It would also accelerate two shifts in U.S. Washington would welcome Iran to the negotiating table over Syria, and it would no longer insist that Mr. Assad step down immediately. At the heart of the diplomacy shift - which essentially brought Washington closer to Moscow's position - was a slow-footed realisation of the Russian military build-up in Syria and, ultimately, a refusal to intervene militarily.
If you're a diehard Netflix user, for instance, make sure to find a player that advertises the ability to stream Netflix content. Luckily, Netflix is one of the most in-demand services, so it shouldn't be hard to find a player with that capability. Devices that can stream Hulu are also relatively easy to find. Another popular service is Amazon Instant Video, with its own vast selection of movies and TV shows. Vudu and iTunes also offer streaming media, but they aren't quite as popular, and you'll have more trouble finding devices that support these services. Besides films and TV shows, you might also be interested in finding devices that support other media. Once you have a good idea of which services you most want, you'll want to know which types of streaming media players are available. Read about them on the next page. In addition to the particular services each one offers, you'll probably want to decide which type of streaming media player works best for you.
The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) observatory is a very high energy gamma-ray detector located in Mexico. In late 2018, the HAWC collaboration completed a major upgrade consisting of the addition of a sparse outrigger array of 345 small water Cherenkov detectors (WCDs) surrounding the 300 WCDs of the main array and extending the instrumented area by a factor of 4. It provides an improved reconstruction of the showers whose core and footprint are not well contained in the array and increases the effective area in the range of a few TeV to beyond 100 TeV. This improvement in sensitivity will help to have a better understanding of the Galactic sources that accelerate particles up to the knee of the cosmic ray spectrum. In this contribution, we will show the current status, the performance, and the first results from the HAWC outrigger array. The High Altitude Water Cherenkov (HAWC) is a very-high-energy gamma-ray observatory located at 4100 m altitude on the volcano Sierra Negra in the state of Puebla in central Mexico.
People usually gossip spontaneously and in private, so it's almost impossible to study gossip in a laboratory setting. In fact, many researchers study gossip by eavesdropping on gossipers. In the next section we'll look at the characteristics of gossip. Rumors and gossip have similarly distasteful connotations, but researchers disagree about whether they are the same thing. Rumor is a specific type of gossip. Gossip is based in fact, but rumors are based in hypotheses. Gossip is a tool for maintaining social order, but rumor is a tool for explaining things that people do not understand. Gossip relates something people believe has happened, but rumors express what people hope or fear will happen. When researchers study gossip, they don't all use the same definition. Most start with the same basic idea: Gossip is a conversation between two people that concerns a third person who is not present. The conversation takes place in private. The people talking are transmitting information as though it were fact, but they have not confirmed the information as factual.
